Isn’t it always exciting to track your delivery package on Amazon and see it getting closer to you with each passing day? That excitement reaches a new peak when the tracking shows “Out for delivery.” But that’s one side of it. The other side consisting of the Amazon driver is more gruesome.

Think of a hundred such excited souls in your city eagerly waiting to get their parcels delivered. Now that is a lot of people to make happy in a day. To add more perspective to the scenario, not every day is as pleasant as spring. Most of the days are showered with heat, rain, or snow.

Not to mention the frequent entanglement in traffic. But somehow, these drivers pull this off every single day. Don’t you think they deserve at least a simple token of appreciation from you? Thankfully, it is easy. Here are 3 ways compiled by Insiderbits to thank your Amazon driver.

How to Thank Your Amazon Driver

Way #1: Say “Alexa, thank my driver”

For the past couple of years, Amazon has started a great initiative called “Thank my driver.” This is a direct way to appreciate the driver for his latest delivery of package to you. Amazon will act as a mediator and notify him of the appreciation you have sent.

For more happiness, Amazon has also announced that the first 2 million thank yous will be accompanied by a $5 tip each this festive season (Side note: December marks as the most hectic month for deliverymen for the obvious reason of Christmas).

This means, Amazon will give the driver $5 for each appreciation he gets until 2 million of them are sent. The amount is completely borne by Amazon. What an amazing way to send monetary benefits to your driver without opening your wallet.

This applies to Amazon drivers in the US only and be done with any of the following 3 methods:

  1. Say “Alexa, thank my driver” to your Echo device or Alexa app on your smartphone.
  2. Search for “thank my driver” on the Amazon website or app.

  1. Go to this link and click on the big yellow button with “Thank my driver.”

Update: The response was so overwhelming that 2 million thanks have been reached by 14 December 2023, just 2 days after its initial launch last year. So no more monetary tips will be provided by Amazon this season. But you can still send a verbal thanks to your driver his way.

Way #2: Leave a good review

As soon as you are delivered a package from Amazon, it sends you an automated email notifying you of the delivery. In that email, you can rate your delivery experience by clicking on the yellow button.

It will take you to its page where you can be more specific about your feedback by choosing what aspects of the delivery you liked the most. It will have an option for the deliveryman. Click on it and submit your feedback to add to his positive reputation in the company.

Way #3: Thank in person

Nothing beats thanking the Amazon driver in person. As he is about to deliver your package, you can surprise him with a pack of supplies including anything such as fruits, chocolates, energy drinks, or a gift card.

If nothing, anybody can offer him a glass of water which can boost his energy for the next deliveries to be made. Any such small act of kindness can make the day for him and may even make him remember you for long.

Conclusion

Delivering packages is a thankless job made harder by the climate’s unforgiveness and traffic’s toil. Thus, the ones who bring you the items you are excited about are worthy of kindness and appreciation.

Even though your act may seem small to you, it can always bring a big smile to the Amazon driver’s face. So, what stops you from trying all these 3 methods? The more, the merrier.
